Maximum Safety at the Wolfersberg Natural Gas Storage Facility

At the DEA gas storage facility southeast of Munich, safety and availability have been decisive factors for decades. Hartmann Valves have been in use here since 1973, and today in the form of compact, gas-tight Twin Ball Valves that solve even complex space problems.

Technical data of the DEA Wolfersberg pore storage

The gas-tight, metal-to-metal sealing ball valves, they withstand high temperatures and pressures. Special designs offer additional safety and economic advantages.

Our low-maintenance and durable valves ensure maximum uptime in highly stressed systems.

Depending on the medium, the highest requirements are placed on sealing technology, the material used and the valve design: requirements that Hartmann products meet reliably over the long term.

Valves

approx. 800 Hartmann ball valves, including approx. 40 Twin Ball Valves

Working Gas Capacity

365,000,000 m³

Max. Injection Capacity

140,000 m³/h

Max. Withdrawal Capacity

160 bar

“Should a Hartmann valve not be completely tight, we perform a few switching operations and then everything is fine again. The ball valves we used previously had to be lubricated at least every six months – and yet they leaked.”
