Our 2-way ball valves are designed for applications where standard valves reach their limits: high pressures, high temperatures, high actuation frequencies, or demanding media. The metal-to-metal sealing system achieves 0-bubble leakage (leak rate A) and a long service life. At the same time, we manufacture application- and customer-specific solutions where technically feasible.

Metal-to-metal sealing ball valves are designed for applications where soft-seated systems reach their limits. They are used wherever demanding media, extreme pressures and temperatures, or very high actuation frequencies require a permanently reliable shut-off valve. The gas-tight sealing system meets leak rate A and ensures permanently reliable shut-off.
The sealing integrity of our valves is verified through technical tests according to the relevant regulations and in accordance with the underlying product standard. Our internal manufacturer standard exceeds the requirements of common test standards such as API 598 and DIN 12266. This provides a robust basis for very high shut-off sealing integrity in demanding applications. The internal definition of leak rate A is based on DIN ISO 5208.
The fully metal seated sealing between the ball and seat ring ensures high wear resistance, minimized maintenance, and a long service life.
Depending on plant requirements, our ball valves can be equipped with additional safety and functional options. The selection of suitable concepts depends on the medium, pressure direction, test requirements, cycling frequencies, and customer-specific application and maintenance concepts.
Hartmann Valves’ trunnion-mounted ball valves can be designed with both double block and bleed (DBB) function and double isolation and bleed (DIB) function.
The DBB function can be implemented in a single valve (double-sided upstream sealing with bleed connection for depressurization/testing) (Hartmann Type AST), or as a Twin Ball Valve with two separate balls (Hartmann Types TSF and TST).
For the realization of the DIB function, Hartmann Valves uses double piston seat systems that can seal in both directions. Double-sided double piston seat systems (DIB1) are mainly used for gases, while single-sided double piston seat systems (DIB2) can be used for all media due to the resulting cavity pressure relief. By using double piston seat systems, two barriers can be created in one direction within a valve. When these systems are used in a Twin Ball Valve with two separate balls, up to four barriers can even be achieved in the pressure direction. Thus, these functions can significantly increase plant safety.
Hartmann ball valves of the AST series are characterized by their trunnion-mounted ball. The design is engineered for high cycling frequencies, extreme pressure ranges, and extended safety or functional concepts.
Blowout-safe operating spindles, floating and self-centering seat rings with pre-tensioned spring elements, and line pressure-dependent sealing force ensure high operational safety.
For trunnion-mounted balls, automatic body pressure relief and Double Block and Bleed enable additional safety functions. The upper operating spindle seals are replaceable even at full line pressure. Furthermore, the valves are fire-safe according to DIN EN ISO 10497 / API 607, anti-static, and maintenance-free.

Hartmann Valves ball valves of the ASFG series are metal-seated 2-way ball valves with a floating ball in a two-piece design. They are designed for small nominal sizes with high pressure requirements and offer a robust, durable sealing solution with full bore due to hardfaced ball and seat ring surfaces.
A single-sided spring-loaded seat ring, line pressure-dependent sealing force, and a triple shaft sealing with blowout-safe operating spindle ensure high operational safety. Threaded or flanged connections, as well as a welded design (Type ASFS), are possible depending on requirements.

Our high-performance valves comply with national and international standards, including:
We support you in all project phases: from planning and design to manufacturing, installation, and regular inspection.
A 2-way ball valve is a shut-off valve with one inlet and one outlet. It serves to fully open or close a medium flow in pipelines. The metal-seated version is suitable for high pressure and temperature ranges as well as demanding media.
The metal sealing between the ball and seat ring is resistant to high temperatures, pressure changes, and abrasive media. It remains functional even with contamination and allows for long service life with reduced maintenance.
2-way ball valves are available in floating or trunnion-mounted designs. Trunnion-mounted systems reduce the operating torque at high pressures and large nominal sizes.
Manufacturing is carried out according to international norms and quality standards. Pressure and leak tests are performed according to EN 12266 or API 598. Optionally, emission tests according to ISO 15848 and fire-safe tests according to API 607 or API 6FA are possible. Material certificates according to EN 10204 (3.1 / 3.2) ensure complete documentation and traceability.
Manual operation or automation with electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic actuators. Safety-related quick-closing functions can also be implemented.
