Hartmann Valves GmbH

Burgdorf-Ehlershausen, January 2024 – Lower Saxony’s Minister for Economic Affairs, Transport, Building and Digitalisation, Olaf Lies, visited the founding site of the globally operating company Hartmann Valves in Burgdorf-Ehlershausen in mid-January. The meeting focused on an exchange about the challenges and opportunities arising in connection with the energy transition.

The retrofitting and construction of new cavern storage facilities for hydrogen, deep geothermal projects, and the challenges in the service industry were key topics in the exchange between Minister Lies and Hartmann Valves. As a system supplier of ball valves and wellheads, the company is, among other things, an important supplier for storage technology and deep geothermal energy.

In future, storing hydrogen in caverns will play a key role in making renewable energies baseload-capable. The energy state of Lower Saxony, with its existing cavern storage facilities and the first pilot projects for hydrogen storage, is currently on the right path towards a secure energy supply. As the construction of additional caverns for hydrogen storage will also be necessary, Hartmann Valves, as a reliable equipment supplier for underground storage facilities and a regionally based company with know-how, can provide excellent support here. Close cooperation between politics and business is crucial to create the framework conditions for expansion and new jobs.

The meeting between Minister Olaf Lies and Hartmann Valves shows how important dialogue and cooperation are in jointly setting the course for a sustainable, future-oriented energy supply.
