Heating valves is particularly necessary for special applications. Heating jackets are used when media must be kept flowable. By maintaining a consistently low viscosity of the media, pump performance can be reduced and damage to the pipeline or valves caused by solidifying solids can be avoided.
Traditionally, double jackets are welded onto the outer area of the valve housing to heat the medium. The new ball valve design from Hartmann Valves integrates the heating jacket into the ball valve housing, making the welding of double jackets redundant. The integrated heating jacket allows the distance between the heating medium and the medium to be heated to be shortened, significantly improving heat transfer.
The pure metal-to-metal sealing ensures that the essential seals are not damaged or destroyed, even if the medium contains solids (such as sulfur cement in liquid sulfur). The new design provides a space-saving and easy-to-install alternative to traditional heating jacket systems.
